Excerpt from Dal Doodles Newsletter - September 2010:
“What do you do on a hazy, hot, and humid Pennsylvania Summer day?” Attend the DVDC Annual Picnic Fun Day! It was actually too hot to make dogs and humans stand out in the sun too long so we
downsized the amount of games we played… and we still had fun!
The Poley family (Drew, Michelle, Jessica) brought their liver Dal, Riley… who proceeded to win both the Biscuit Bobbing AND Biscuit Catching games! Mary Gifford brought Johnny and her new puppy girl, Alle. Talk 
about no fear of water, Alle wasn’t interested in bobbing for a biscuit - she just wanted to dive into the water! She even had her personal doggie pool with her too...which all the dogs got the opportunity to try and get the biscuit without getting their feet wet… but not Alle! She walked right in the water and stayed there.
Maryann Slonaker brought Ceaira again - she’s not a little puppy any longer! She now has a new little brother, Wajer. We took turns holding or petting that cute little liver boy. He actually won his very first silver biscuit with having the shortest tail at 6 inches… and, of course, Johnny won at having the longest tail with his 15-incher! 
Linda Oppe brought Dalai to her 2nd Fun Day. She is doing so very well with her new forever home and living in harmony with 2 kitties too! Also in attendance were Linda & Jack Sutton, Diane & Jeff Snyder, and myself. Thank you to Ann Miller for presiding over the events and awarding the silver biscuits once again. We had two ladies that were invited to join us so they can learn more about Dalmatians before becoming new owners. They loved watching the Dals play the games and having the opportunity to interact with them.
After a brief membership meeting, we enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch. Thank you to everyone for bringing such a nice selection of goodies to enjoy! We look forward to seeing you next summer!
